Special places: Klunkerkranich, Berlin

Posted in:

Every now and again we come across places that we just love. Places with a good vibe, friendly staff, a fun interior and lots of character, you know, the kind of place you wish was in your home town – special places.

So I'm going to start sharing them here and first up is Klunkerkranich, where we've been a couple of times during our month in Berlin. On the fifth floor of the Neukölln Arcaden shopping centre, it's a restaurant, bar, music venue, cinema, community garden and occasional flea market.

There's a real handmade feel to the whole setup, with its wooden structures, scattered plants, sprinklers and bunting. There's also a sand pit! And the view over the city makes it a great place to spend a summer evening watching the sunset.
